About the organisation

Wayss is the largest provider of housing and family violence services in the Southeast Melbourne area.  We exist so people can live a life free from family violence and have access to safe, sustainable and affordable housing.  Our vision is to be the major provider of social housing services and support programs in the Southern Melbourne Metropolitan region.

The Exciting Opportunity:

Reporting to the General Manager People Enablement, you will provide quality and pragmatic advise; support leaders to develop people solutions and initiatives and deploy fit for purpose solutions across the employee lifecycle. 

In addition to the above, you’ll be involved in transformative people enablement projects and building capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support leaders to develop appropriate people solutions and initiatives to achieve business outcomes
  • Build capability through coaching and developing leaders and teams
  • Create effective change management plans for initiatives and teams
  • Support leaders to address and people challenges and respond to individual employee queries
  • Lead employee/industrial relations matters, including providing sound and accurate advice and counsel
  • Conduct investigations, prepare reports and make recommendations
  • Facilitate talent management to align our people capability with business needs
  • Develop, report, and analyse people metrics and support understanding and interpretation of reports/data/metrics, including actions
  • Contribute to and initiate continuous improvement activities 

Key Competencies:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent substantial generalist HR work experience, in complex, multi-site organisations
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with a strong client centred service focus and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude is essential
  • Demonstrated deep knowledge and experience in the effective delivery of sound advice (including employment/IR legislation, awards, enterprise agreements etc) and strong business partner orientation
  • Deep and broad knowledge of HR processes across the employee life cycle
  • Demonstrated experience positively partnering with key stakeholders to create and support the delivery of people plans and objectives
  • Experience in coaching leaders and empowering teams and leaders to support business outcomes
  • Experience coaching and supporting leaders to manage and embed change
  • A proven aptitude to relate positively and confidently with people from all walks of life, in a variety of settings

In addition to the above, we also require:

  • Up to date COVID-19 vaccinations
  • Current National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current Drivers Licence and a road worthy vehicle
  • Proof of eligibility to work in Australia
